Australia Day in Victoria

Australia Day is the nation’s largest annual public celebration. It is an opportunity to reflect on what it means to be Australian - and to celebrate all the things we love about our country: our lifestyle, a sense of fair go, our shared values and cultural heritage, our connection to land, but most importantly, our people. Across Victoria there are hundreds of community events showcasing our diverse community and recognising those who make a difference to the lives of others. For people in and around Melbourne this Australia Day, there are a range of free family-friendly events in Melbourne’s CBD to entertain all audiences. Some of the event highlights that locals and visitors alike can enjoy on Australia Day Friday 26 January 2018: the Official Flag Raising Ceremony, the Australia Day Parade on Swanston Street in Melbourne’s CBD, the RACV Australia Day Festival in Kings Domain Gardens, and finishing with Australia Day fireworks at Docklands.
