AWTEX - The Australian Woodturning Exhibition

The Australian Woodturning Exhibition is the premier annual three day event in the country that attracts wood turners from across Australia and New Zealand. The competition is open to students under 18, novices, intermediate and Master Turners. It is a not for profit event run entirely by volunteers.

It features outstanding woodart that hobbyists, craft, wood, art enthusiasts and collectors will appreciate. All items have an element of wood turning in them but also incorporate embellishments such as carving, painting and pyrography to name but a few.

There will be daily wood turning demonstrations by some of Australia's leading wood turners. Presentation of awards by Sponsors will be conducted at 4:00pm Sunday June 24.

This is the exhibition's 19th year under the name The Australian Woodturning Exhibition, however it was originally established in 1980 under the name The National Woodturning Exhibition. Visitors can take a break from the exhibition and relax in the café or lounge area. Refreshments served throughout the day from the café area in the banquet rooms.
