Americana lovers Georgia State Line have been exporting their own brand of Melburnian country since their inception in 2016. Fronted by Bendigo-born songstress Georgia Delves, the group blend vintage and contemporary sounds to create songs that feel warmed and lived-in, with Delves writing to incite an ageless feeling and capture the bittersweet balancing act between growing up and staying young. Following from the success of their debut EP Heaven Knows, the group are excited to announce the release of their poignant new track ‘Dry My Tears’ out Friday 3 August with a headline show on Sunday 26 August and Out On The Weekend Festival performance to follow.
A slow-winding journey traversing regional vs. metropolitan life, ‘Dry My Tears’ is a tender moment for Delves, reflecting on the distances between where she’s been, where she stands and where she’s heading. Driven by the lush drone of the pedal steel courtesy of bandmate and multi-instrumentalist Tom Brooks, ‘Dry My Tears’ carries its weight of both old-time traditions and alt-country tropes in a delicate yet punchy performance that could easily mistake them for Tennessee expats.
