Japanese Pottery - Nest of Small Plates

Design and create three small plates – perfect for the dining table, as gifts or to display treasures. Choose a glaze in class and we will contact you when your creation is ready to collect.

You will learn the introduction to basic techniques of ceramics and slab, pinch and coiling methods.

You will receive three small plates which you can collect after they have been fired.

All materials provided. No long nails. Wear old clothing

The tutor has 40 years experience, Shoko Mafune is a talented ceramicist. Early in her career Shoko completed a four year apprenticeship under a Japanese potter before moving to Australia. Since then Shoko has exhibited her artworks in Japan, Philippines and Australia. Shoko has been teaching her very popular pottery classes at YCC since 2012, with glowing reviews from all her students.
