Australia's largest collection of Japanese whisky has been released as a six month consumable exhibition. The pop-up bar named Bar White Oak is located within Melbourne CBD whisky bar, Whisky and Alement until mid-November serving a rotating menu of over 150 unique and rare Japanese whiskies.
Whiskies on pour will range from rare demolished distilleries never to be produced again, such as Karuizawa, Hanyu and Kawasaki, to unique old blends. Japanese whisky producers, large and small, are thought to be some of the best whisky blenders in the world. This is a rare opportunity to compare blends from side-by-side from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and current day.
Open seven days, the bar emulates traditional Japanese Whisky Bars with outstanding service, complimentary bar snacks and a unique menu of whiskies that are fast disappearing worldwide.
For those wanting to learn more about Japanese whisky, Whisky and Alement will also be running a small number of Japanese Whisky Tastings during the duration of the pop-up.
