Lorna Cafe

Lorna is fast becoming the unofficial caffeine sponsor of the 1000 Steps. They have taken the best elements of Melbourne’s cafe scene, throw in a little Mexican heritage and some A-Grade Tasmanian produce, then plonked it down in Ferntree Gully, at the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges. With southern fried chicken served with savoury waffles on the menu sitting alongside the health bowl with elements like coconut kale and pickled cauliflower - what is not to love. Lorna, named after the grandmother of co-owner Josh O'Brien, has a clean, Scandi white interior mixed with some beautiful solid American oak pieces throughout. Josh's partner in crime, Omar Viramontes hails from California and brings the Mexican element to a number of dishes.
