Rhythm of Africa

Every Saturday night during January and February head to Werribee Open Range Zoo for an evening of live African music, African-inspired street food, kids' activities and more. Rhythm of Africa is a must-do summer tradition, bringing together families and friends for a magic mix of warm summer nights, African beats, drumming workshops, hair braiding, face painting and picnics on the grass. Explore the African Pula Trail until 8:00pm spotting lions, wild dogs and cheetah on the prowl and hippos grazing on the beach. If it is a warm night, don’t forget to bring the kids’ bathers and watch the sun set from Hippo Beach. While you relax beneath the thatched umbrellas the kids will love playing in the sand and cooling off under the fountains.
