Schwerkolt Cottage Heritage Family Day

Bring the family, bring your own picnic and head to Schwerkolt Cottage for a day of fun and laughter. This is a true family day with free activities for the children including pony rides, face painting, an animal farm, balloon artistry, Meccano and electric train displays and the always popular old-fashioned games on the Cottage lawn. Enjoy the music of Brumbies Bush Band, Devonshire Tea and cake stall by the Whitehorse Historical Society and a sausage sizzle by the Mitcham and Forest Hill Rotary Clubs. Wander through the Cottage, Museum and Orchard display shed or take a guided tour of the complex on the hour. Wonderful craft and trade demonstrations include knitting, lace-making, spinning, weaving, woodturning and blacksmithing. To introduce the children to the joy of nature, 300 native seedlings will be on offer to take home, nurture, grow and enjoy.
