Six Degrees in Melbourne

Six short plays set in Melbourne's own Flinders Lane. In its second year, Six Degrees in Melbourne is an exciting departure from regular theatre fare. Described by one critic last year as ‘nuggets of gold in a bleak modern city’, Six Degrees in Melbourne consists of six short plays that weave in and around each other while dipping into the darkness and surprises of Flinders Lane. To prepare for this theatrical journey by degrees from Melbourne's most celebrated writers' theatre, six writers went down to Flinders Lane. Amidst the cobblestones, cafes, brass plates and bicycles, six stories emerged yet only two characters were created. Tally and Beaux, played by eight actors. Just to keep audiences guessing. Original and inspiring, with stories ranging from the dramatic to the humorous, and often very funny, this is local theatre at its finest. Writers: Maree Collie, Bruce Shearer, Adele Shelley, Mazz Ryan, Joe Austin-Crowe and Katie Lee. Performed by MWT's actor ensemble. Directed by: Mazz Ryan and Adele Shelley. Proudly presented by Melbourne Writers' Theatre.
