Stephen Cummings has recorded over 20 studio albums as well as a film soundtrack to Not Quite Hollywood and two novels, in an influential career spanning more than forty years.
Two years ago, a feature documentary “Don’t Throw Stones” premiered at the Melbourne Film Festival and this will be released in 2018. Cummings prior to his solo career had a pop group The Sports, who had world record deals with Mushroom, Arista, Stiff and Sire Record labels and released Four albums.
After the Sports disbanded in late 1981 Cummings has made about 22 albums for mainstream and Independent labels, one of the few Australian artists to do so. He has worked at one stage or another with most of Australia’s leading musicians from Steve Kilbey to the Necks and Underground Lovers to Grant McClennan.
He has performed with The Australian Dance Theatre Company and had a newspaper column with the Age Newspaper for several years.
