World Book Day at State Library Victoria

Celebrate your ongoing love affair with the book in a series of special events for World Book Day. Pop-up talks in the 'World of the book' exhibition include: The book in history – from the codex to contemporary art; Books that changed the world; Tango: a giant romance comic anthology; and The lady vanishes – the intrepid Rose de Freycinet. There will be a public lecture titled 'The lure of cheap books', with Wal Kirsop from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. Discover the story of cheap books, from the 19th-century launch of mass education to today’s bargain bins. Also, see award-winning author Christos Tsiolkas in this live recording with Nic Brasch, host of The Garret: writers on writing podcast, discussing the art, craft and business of writing.
